The City of Frankfort receives affordable and high quality services from a variety of public and private utilities. We have included a description of providers for utilities, including areas served and contact information on the page.

Cable

The Frankfort Plant Board (http://www.fewpb2.com) delivers cable television services to residents of Frankfort. Plant Board customer service is located in City Hall at 317 West 2nd Street and may be reached by telephone at (502) 352-4372 or toll-free at
(888) 312-4372.

Electricity

The Frankfort Plant Board delivers electric services to residents of Frankfort. Plant Board customer service is located in City Hall at 317 West 2nd Street and may be reached by telephone at (502) 352-4372 or toll-free at (888) 312-4372. Electric service in Franklin County outside Frankfort's City limits is provided by the Blue Grass Energy Cooperative or by the Kentucky Utilities Company.

Water

The Frankfort Plant Board delivers electric services to residents of Frankfort. Plant Board customer service is located in City Hall at 317 West 2nd Street and may be reached by telephone at (502) 352-4372 or toll-free at (888) 312-4372. Outside the City limits, water is distributed by the Elkhorn, Farmdale, and Peaks Mill water districts.

Natural Gas

The City of Frankfort, as well as some areas of Franklin County, are served with natural gas by Columbia Gas of Kentucky, 800-432-9345, and Atmos Energy (formerly Western Kentucky Gas), 888-286-6700. Typically, expansion of the Columbia Gas service area occurs only on an "as requested" basis with developers or users installing the new lines.

Sewer

Sewer service is provided by the City of Frankfort's Sewer Department. Billing is based on water consumption and is included in the monthly bill from the Frankfort Plant Board. In Franklin County, sewage is treated at "package" treatment plants that typically serve a single subdivision or development.

Telephone

For local telephone service, consumers have two options—the Frankfort Plant Board and BellSouth, which is now merging with AT&T.
