The Frankfort Transit System provides three fixed routes covering all major shopping centers, doctor's offices, hospital, senior citizen's complex and most state office buildings. This service runs from 6:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. A printed schedule is available showing the three routes and their scheduled times at the different locations with the fares being 50 cents for passengers 13 and up, free for childern 12 and under, senior citizens 25 cents each way and with transfers free.
Also a complementary Demand Responce services is offered to the elderly and disabled citizens who cannot get to the regular fixed routes with fares being $1.00 each way covering all points of the City limits, Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday for any one who has scheduled a trip. Under this service, you must call 24 hours (one day) in advance to schedule a ride. An application is required to be filled out and signed by a doctor or an agency serving the elderly or disabled. Deviated Route - Only applies to fixed fixed routes IMPORTANT: 24hr notice is needed for reservations. Deviated routes must be scheduled by 2:30 p.m. the day before. Due to limited space, trips will be scheduled on a first come-first serve basis. The maximum advanced time allowed to make reservations is 1 week. Fro reservations call (502) 875-8565 or TDD (502) 875-8582. The schedule shows what time after every hour the bus will be at a specific stop. Key time points are noted on the schedule, so try to estimate how far your stop is from the time point so you will be there on time. Always plan to arrive at your stop a few minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. If you miss your bus, it will be another hour before it come again! Please allow 10 minutes early or late due to traffic/weather. Wheelchair lifts are available on all buses. Bike racks are available on all three fixed route buses. If severe weather causes us to cancel service for any portion of the service day, we will notify the public through radio and television announcements. Whenever you can, try to make alternative travel plans during predicted severe weather. In case of icy road conditions, we may implement snow routes.
