How to Apply For A Job

You may obtain an application form from City Hall between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or click here to download the application. Be certain to indicate in the appropriate section of the application form the specific job for which you are applying. Mail-in applications are accepted. Applications MUST be received by the deadline date and time specified on the job announcement. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

General applications are accepted. For a general application to be considered for a specific job, you must activate your application by contacting Human Resources at (502) 875-8535.

All applications remain on file for one year.


Applying For A Fire Or Police Recruit Position

Applications are accepted at any time, or in response to a job announcement, from persons at least 21 years old. For consideration, applications must include a copy of your actual Birth Certificate (issued by the state department of Vital Statistics), your valid driver's license, and your high school diploma. If applicable, you must also include your DD214, college transcript(s), and/or relevant certifications.

The recruiting process for Fire and Police recruits is implemented on a once a year basis unless circumstances require more frequent recruitment.
